Time to Dive In To Your Gator Student Experience

Gator Nation Visit Days (GNV Days) are an optional one-day, transition experience hosted throughout the month of July. Students and their families will have the opportunity to come to campus to be immersed in all things UF.

During GNV Days, students and one guest will have the opportunity to:

  • Tour campus where they can get a feel for campus life and learn more about the Gator Student Experience.
  • Have lunch in one of our dining halls.
  • Create early connection with peers and fellow Gators.
  • Discover more about resources available.
  • And, of course, learn Gator traditions.

GNV Days will take place on UF’s campus, in accordance with university COVID-19 guidelines space availability may be limited. Each registration is restricted to one student and one guest.

Dates

Subject to availability all GNV Days will take place every Monday through Friday starting July 1, 2021 and offered each day until July 23, 2021 (with the exception of July 5 – Independence Day Observed).

Schedule

The GNV Days schedule will allow students to explore different resources on campus and begin to plan their college experience. Registered students and their guests should bring their comfortable walking shoes, an umbrella in case of Florida showers, and any questions you may have about the transition to UF.

Cost

GNV Days will cost $40 per student and $40 per guest which will include parking and lunch. Limited need-based waivers are available for the student registration cost. Waivers are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis and can be submitted through our waiver form here.

Where to Stay

If you’re curious where to stay when visiting Gainesville, on-campus housing is available for students the day before and the evening of your GNV session, if needed. Housing will be limited capacity and have an additional cost. Other overnight options for families can be found at the Reitz Union Hotel or by exploring the Visit GNV page.

    Pay your GNV Day costs with a major credit card through our online registration system – cash payments will not be accepted.

    Review your registration confirmation which will be emailed to you once your GNV Day costs are paid in full and prior to your GNV Day session.

GNV Days will cost $40 per student and $40 per guest. This cost will cover parking, lunch, and our program.
No, GNV Days are an optional one-day, transition program to help students get connected and learn even more about all UF has to offer. All information is supplemental to the required Preview Orientation programs in May and June.
Family members play an important role in the transition of their students. During GNV Days, one family member or guest is permitted per student registered. Each guest will also be able to learn about UF and engage with UF campus departments and services.
GNV Days will consist of one day of information and activities which begins at 8:00 am and concludes around 5:00 pm. GNV Days are designed to provide information about your transition to college and help you navigate your Gator student experience.
Yes, housing is available for students who are interested in staying in a residence hall the night before, the evening of, or both days. Housing is limited and will be an additional cost. Students will need to provide their own pillow, linens, and toiletries when staying overnight in a campus residence hall. The cost for students is $42.00 per night. Overnight on campus accommodations are NOT available for guest/family members. If you are interested in staying overnight in a residence hall for your GNV Days visit, please select the nights via the GNV registration system.

Students and guests should wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Umbrellas are also encouraged, as it rains often in the summer.
In the event of a conflict with a session for which you have registered, please log in to your reservation to change your session date. Please note we will not be able to place you in a session that has closed or is filled to capacity so please make sure to register for a session you are able to attend. You can click on “Register” on the main GNV Days menu to view changes to your registration.

In the event you would like to cancel your registration please contact the New Student & Family Programs team at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled GNV Day session date.

Student waivers are available and granted to eligible students who have demonstrated financial need. They are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Financial need/waiver eligibility is typically demonstrated through a completed FAFSA application showing a zero expected family contribution, Pell Grant Eligibility, or other forms of financial assistance. Since the number of waivers is limited, students who meet the qualifications are not guaranteed a waiver, if all waivers have been awarded. Yes. If you are enrolled in person for Summer B, you can still participate in GNV Days. Please contact our office to discuss.
