First Year Florida is offered every Summer B, Fall and Spring Semester. There are a variety of First Year Florida sections offered. There are a variety of options for you to choose from depending on your interests and your needs. Below are some examples:
This section provides students with an opportunity to be engaged with a community of students from backgrounds that span across regional demographics, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, major/minor interest, & more.
This section is for out-of-state Gators only. Learn not only about UF but also about Gainesville and what it means to be a Floridian while meeting and interacting with other out-of-state Gators.
This section is for students who are the first to attend college in their family. Special attention will be given to answering questions about different policies and procedures that students new to the college experience may have.
This section is designed for students in the PaCE/Online program. Utilizing interactive modules, videos, and discussion boards, online students will learn how to utilize the University of Florida’s resources regardless of where they are located. The Instructor and Peer Leader will connect students to the best resources for PaCE students.
This section is designed for students in the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars program. The Instructor and Peer Leader will connect students to the best resources for MFOS students.
This section is designed for students in the PROMISE program. The Instructor and Peer Leader will connect students to the best resources for PROMISE students.
This section is designed for students who are transferring from another College/University. The Instructor and Peer Leader (a student who recently transferred to UF) are excited to show you all that UF and Gainesville has to offer.
There are a variety of sections that are offered based on your college/major. This includes a section for the College of Health & Human Performance, Pre-Pharmacy, and Engineering. This list changes from semester to semester.
