Congratulations on your admission to the University of Florida! Your academic achievements, involvement beyond the classroom, and unique experiences make you a strong addition to the Gator Nation.
YOUR PREVIEW checklists
The transition to college can be both exciting and challenging, and we want to help you feel confident and prepared every step of the way. To support your new student transition, we’ve created three Preview Checklists: one to complete before, during, and after Preview.
These steps are required.
Complete your on-campus Housing Application, as housing is not reserved for first-year students. To increase your chance for on-campus housing, please submit the application and then sign and submit the Student Housing Agreement as soon as possible to secure your spot.
- PaCE students will have the opportunity to live on campus once they transition to an on-campus academic program.
Confirm your enrollment via the Gator Portal, and pay the non-refundable $200 tuition deposit, unless your fees were waived.
UF Quest is a signature and transformational undergraduate core education program designed to engage students in interdisciplinary inquiry, civic responsibility, critical thinking, and real-world engagement. Students are required to take Quest 1 in their first year. Complete the UF Quest 1 Survey to list your preferences for a UF Quest 1 course.
- PaCE and IA students do not need to complete this survey.

Make arrangements to send your final transcripts with diploma date to our office by July 1, as your school may not automatically do this. Check your Gator Portal for transcript(s) status.
These steps should be completed before your Preview session.
Please submit your immunization records through the Student Self-Service Portal at least three weeks prior to your Preview session.
Preview Prep is a self-paced online module that new Gators complete at least 3 days prior to their Preview session. Prep collects information related to your academic background and interests, so you can be confident in major and course selection.
In Preview Prep, you’ll get a chance to:
- Explore majors.
- Learn about degree requirements.
- Understand how your incoming credits are likely to apply to your degree.
- Consider your academic goals.
- Begin to identify the courses you might want to take.
- Learn if you need to take a placement assessment for math or chemistry courses before participating in Preview.
All the information you input into Prep is printed onto your Prep Sheet, which helps your Preview Advisor give you accurate and personalized advice during Preview.
Preview Prep will be available starting at 10:00 am ET on Tuesday, April 15, 2026.
(Open early April) Every member of the UF community has a GatorONE ID, which is the official identification of the University of Florida.
What prepared me the most for the preview was the emailed checklist guides. Before preview, I went over the list of tasks that I needed to complete with my parents, and it helped us feel more comfortable before I started my Preview journey. While attending Preview, you will register for your fall classes. To do so, you will need to have all registration holds cleared in advance. Please log in to ONE.UF to review your account.
The only holds that should remain on your account are:
- Preview Registration – This hold will be lifted at Preview during registration.
- Registration Preparation – You may remove this hold yourself. If you need assistance, we are happy to help.
- Immunization – If you have submitted your immunization records but they are still being processed, you will still be able to register. This hold will be temporarily lifted for Preview; however, all required immunizations must be submitted and approved before the start of classes.
Any other holds—such as missing test scores or outstanding balances—must be resolved before attending Preview, as they may delay or prevent your registration.

WHAT TO BRING TO PREVIEW
- Your UF ID # and GatorLink username and password
- A phone or other device with Duo Mobile set up
- Preview Parking Permit
- Umbrella/Rain attire
- Comfortable clothes and shoes
- On Day 1, most activities will take place inside the Reitz Union for all participants.
- On Day 2, students will be outdoors and moving across campus, while family members will primarily remain inside the Reitz Union.
- Copy of your completed Mandatory Immunization Health History Form (if your hold has not been lifted)
- Money for meals on Day 2
STAYING OVERNIGHT IN THE RESIDENCE HALL?
You should also pack:
- Linens – Sheets, Pillow, Blanket
- Toiletries & Towel
- Change of Clothes for Both Days
- Money for your Evening Meal
*If you aren't parking on campus for Preview, we can hold your luggage at the Help Desk when you check in.

At Preview, students will meet with their Advisor to select and register for classes. Academic advising appointments and other Preview sessions are designed specifically for students. Parents and family members are not permitted to attend individual student sessions.
Preview is designed to help you meet other students like you. Through small groups, shared activities, and interest-based conversations, you’ll connect with fellow Gators who share similar academic goals and interests, while having fun and starting to build your UF community.
My favorite part of Preview was meeting other students like myself. As a non-traditional admittee, it can sometimes feel lonesome; however, being placed in a session with other students who shared similar experiences made me feel far less alone.Leilani Lorenze '28
At Preview, you’ll learn about UF’s health and well-being resources designed to support you both in and out of the classroom. Explore services such as the Counseling & Wellness Center, GatorWell Health Promotion Services—including time management and stress assessments—the Student Health Care Center, and more. These resources are here to help you thrive as a Gator.

Stop by the UF Bookstore during Preview to peruse the textbooks and load up on Gator gear. You’ll also receive a Preview coupon*, making it the perfect time to rep the orange and blue and show your Gator pride.

Preview is your time to get all your UF questions answered. Whether you’re curious about classes, campus life, resources, or what to expect as a Gator, UF staff and Preview Staffers are there to help—so you can start your UF journey feeling informed and confident.
My biggest advice is not be afraid to ask questions or ask for help. UF has so many resources, but you only benefit from them if you actually use them. Also, don't feel pressure to have everything figured out right away; give yourself grace.Kaisha Charles '29
These steps are suggested.
During Preview, you registered for classes – so you’re all set! But, you may have received new placement information, changed your mind about which major to pursue, or realized that you have some lingering questions that you want to ask an advisor. If any of these situations apply to you, no worries! You can submit a request to adjust your schedule or connect with an advisor through the Schedule Adjust page.
For any schedule adjustment, such as choosing a different elective course or opting into a different time/day for a lab, incoming students can use the Schedule Adjustment period. During this time, you can log into your ONE.UF account online and Add, Drop, or Swap your coursework. We recommend using Swap anytime you want to replace one course on your schedule with another course or time. This way, you won’t need to Drop and potentially lose your seat in the course you already have.
Once the Preview has concluded, students will be eligible in late July to purchase parking permits.
Student permit eligibility is based on whether the student lives on or off campus and the number of credit hours earned. The purchase of a parking permit does not guarantee a parking space.
All students are required to have health insurance while enrolled at UF.
If you already have coverage, you must submit proof and request a waiver, or you may purchase the university-sponsored health insurance. Both options can be completed through the Health Compliance portal. For additional questions, please contact the Health Compliance office.
The Disability Resource Center approves accommodations for students based on an interactive, ongoing process with students to meet their individual needs.
Students in need of academic accommodations while studying at UF should connect with the Disability Resource Canter through a 1:1 Pre-Registration and initial appointment. For more information, please contact the Disability Resource Center.
The UF Online Optional Fee Package gives PaCE and UF Online students who reside in or frequently visit Gainesville access to on-campus student services.
UF Online and PaCE students can opt into the Optional Fee Package to pay residential fees that provide access to services and resources on campus.

Students who choose the fee package can sign up for season football tickets, access the Student Health Care Center, recreation and fitness, and more. You can opt-in at any time prior to the end of Drop/Add for access in the same semester.

Connect to the Wireless Internet
Students should use the eduroam network while on campus. Eduroam is fast, secure, and protected by encryption. To connect easily, visit the wireless onboarding page at https://getonline.ufl.edu, which will automatically configure your device for eduroam access.

To check your bill, log into ONE.UF and select “View My Account” under the Campus Finances (Bursar).
For questions and payment options, contact the university Bursar at (352) 392-0181.
Mark your calendar for important tuition and fee deadlines. If tuition and fees are not paid in full by the established deadline date, you will receive a late fee.
Log in to Canvas, UF’s learning management system and academic portal, through eLearning to access your courses and course materials. Most classes will be published the day before or on the first day of class.
Don't wait until the first day of class to find your classes. Explore the campus and find your classrooms before the first day.
The Great Gator Welcome is your official kick-off to the semester. Campus departments and student organizations will host events with opportunities for you to meet new people, get connected to the Gator student experience, explore campus and just have fun!
