Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Florida! The University of Florida is excited to welcome you to its thriving community. We are excited you have chosen to continue your academic journey with UF and want to make sure that you have all the information necessary to begin. To assist you with your transition to graduate school, New Student & Family Programs and the Graduate School have developed a Graduate Online Orientation called Platform.


Platform is an online orientation program that is uniquely created for Graduate Students. Whether you are coming internationally or an alum of the University, the graduate student experience is filled with different challenges. The University is here to support you in your journey to becoming successful in your field of study and has developed various resources to help in your venture. Those who participate in Platform feel more comfortable in their UF graduate student transition, and can help you achieve your goals!

Steps below to begin your Graduate Online Orientation

  • GatorLink Account

    Set-up your GatorLink account. You’ll use your GatorLink username and password to register for your Graduate Online Orientation as well as other online UF resources, such as your e-mail and student records.

  • Register for Platform

    Register for Platform and pay the $35 orientation service charge here.

  • Log into Canvas

    After registering, you will find Platform on you personal Canvas site. Canvas is the primary e-learning platform of the University. It can take up to 15 minutes for you to be given access to Canvas from the time you register and pay for orientation.

  • Technical Support

    If you ever have any technical problems or questions, reach out to New Student and Family Programs.
